Over the last decade, Medlar has carved out a unique corner of the underground with releases on labels including Wolf Music, Razor n Tape and Make A Dance, developing a sound that effortlessly bridges deep house, leftfield disco, broken rhythms and jazz-infused electronics. Whether chopping up samples or building richly textured compositions from scratch, his productions carry an unmistakable warmth and humanity that has earned him a devoted following amongst discerning selectors worldwide.

This 4-track vinyl from Isaac Carter & Biyi on Carter’s own OCHI imprint, has been a long time coming, hence the name. You will no doubt have heard the likes of Ben UFO, Seth Troxler, Floating Points, Raresh, Joy Orbison, Moxie and Bradley Zero to name few, spinning these over the past 18 months, and by popular demand they are now available for the first time ever on wax.

YumYum Records launches its first vinyl release with label heads and duo Cal & Al, introducing The Valley Mentality EP. A friendship that started and grew into a project from many years of sharing moments shaped by digging, playing, listening and creating together. A full Welsh affair, the EP features three original cuts alongside a remix from fellow Welshman Harrison BDP — four groove laden and drum driven tracks with an ambiguous tonal edge, built for open minded dance floors and introspective moments alike.

Lucas Moinet is a Paris-born producer with his roots planted firmly in the soul of house music. Through projects like Keraw, Groove Boys Project and Projecture, he’s built a catalogue that doesn’t chase trends, it’s goes straight back to the source. Chicago, Detroit, New York. Visions of Love is his debut on To The Rock and it feels right at home. There's a nod to David Mancuso and the spirit of the Loft, a dubby slow burner that rides with a hypnotic ease, then into swinging drums & jazzy chords, a track that carries the spirit of Olivier Portal without trying to replicate. Closing out with a record built around a vocal that reminds you why this music exists in the first place.

Instruments of Rapture return with RXXV04, the fourth instalment of their revived series, titled Certain Realities. “Make It Right” opens with a slow-burning groove, before “The Way Down” settles into a deep, mid-tempo beatdown rhythm. On the flip, “Keep U Going” brings a touch of 80s boogie to the mix, rounding out another slick selection of deep, disco-leaning cuts from the label.

Pacific Coast House return with PCH007R, bringing together three cuts from JT. “Make You High” is a chugging acid workout, driven by heavy 303 basslines, rhythmic drums and hypnotic vocal hooks, while “Make You Dub” takes things into deeper dub territory. On the flip, “Time To Have Fun” feat. Gahl Sasson switches things up with a laid-back, downtempo groove, combining dreamy vocals, trippy samples and subtle acid touches. The three tracks have been remastered for this reissue by Martin Iveson.

Live Trax Vol. 2 is the next instalment in the series that comes from live hardware sets recorded straight to 1/4” tape. These are road-tested, raw house rollers produced with the discerning dance floor in mind.
